Reindeer Cake Pops

Two years ago, I discovered Bakerella's site for cake pops. I fell in love. I wanted to make every variety. Then I discovered she had a book. I ran out to get it the week it came out. My first cake pops were the Hello Kitty version. Last night I decided to make the reindeer version for the teachers at work.

 I had fun making them. It was just time consuming making over 70 cake pops, but not hard.

 Rudolph and regular reindeer were made.

 My dad made a board to hold the cake pops which was a real help. The board says "White Sox" for my husband. My husband actually makes cake pops every week for his student, but doesn't decorate them.

We had a snow delay today, which never happens for my district. The girls didn't have school due to the snow. So they came to school with me. Cake pops were eaten at lunch, but there were quite a bit of leftovers due to people not being there because of the weather. I believe I am going to use the leftovers as presents for the neighbors.

Living Room Redo

We have been super busy around the house. Here is a list of things we have been doing;

• Both girls are taking tumbling.
• Melodye is volunteering at the library.
• Melodye and Brooke attends two different summer reading program.
• We have been to Six Flags a few times.
• The living room, hallway, and foyer have been painted.
• We tore up carpet in the living room and hallway.
• We replaced the carpet with bamboo (It is gorgeous!!)
• We bought new living room furniture.
• Brooke is obsessed with Super Heroes like Batman, X-Men, Robin, Spiderman, etc.

Bamboo flooring is from Costco, wall color is Classic Taupe by Behr from Home Depot, furniture is from Harlem Furniture. I love how it came together. 

Next on our list includes the flooring for the three bedroom, painting the kitchen, and putting in a backsplash in the kitchen. time and energy consuming projects, but will be worth it when we are finished.

The Beginning

Today was the beginning. The beginning of back to work for me and the beginning of back to daycare for Brooke. Brooke was not ready to go back today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I had meetings all day today. Tomorrow I will be working on my classroom and getting ready for the kids. I hope I can get everything done tomorrow that I need, but I don't know. At least I hope I get all of the kids things finished and make it look like everything else is finished, which is more probable. The kids start Wednesday. I really hope . . . no I know I will have a really good class this year.

I am still taking Cake Decorating classes. I am in the middle of Course 2. I haven't much of a chance to practice, but I will be making Brooke's birthday cake for her party on Sunday. Which reminds me, I need to make the cake and figure out how I am decorating it.

Soccer has started for Melodye. Three days of practice this week and the first game is Sunday right after Brooke's party. Soccer doesn't start for Brooke for a few weeks. We still need to find time to sell the raffle tickets. I keep forgetting about them.

Melodye goes back to school for third grade on Monday. Brooke goes back to preschool on Tuesday. At least then we can come up with a routine and stick with it.

Last night we took Mel to the store to get gym shoes for school. The girl is wearing a size 5. She just turned 8, how can she be wearing a 5. When we found that out, she was excited but I apologized in advance to her that she got her big feet from me ( size 12).

Cake Decorating

This is my first try at a decorated cake after only 2 classes. I have a long way to go, but I think it turned out pretty good.
