Update on Computer

I finally got Network Magic working, which I absolutely love. It makes networking so easy. Ends up that I just needed to go to the website to download the newest version of the software. See simple.

Then I tried to get MSN working. No such luck. I keep getting an error message, but I am told there is a fix for it. I download the fix and it tells me that I am raring to go. But no such luck, I get a different error message telling me that a part of the library did not download. I finally called Verizon today (we get our MSN through Verizon). The girl at Verizon told me I am out of luck. I can access MSN through Internet Explorer, but not through the butterfly because they do not have the link. I ask for MSN's number and call them. The automated voice tells me that since I am a Verizon Broadband customer I will be forwarded to Verizon. So at this moment my laptop sits wanting to be used for my internet perusing, but cannot because I am not able to locate my favorites on Internet Explorer.

Christmas was wonderful. I would love to add a picture, but the pictures are on the laptop. I will try anyway, but not promising anything. The family got a Wii. Tommy got Guitar Hero III. We are all loving both. I never thought I would be able to play GH3, but I am loving it just as much as Tommy. Melodye got a Webkinz Pegasus. Brooke got a Train Table. I got a computer desk and a portable photo printer. THose are our favorites. I am trying to include a photo of Melodye as she opened the Wii.

Now to just get all the organizing I want to finish and school stuff I would like to finish before Thursday when I go back to work.

GGRRRRRRRRR Computers

Computers do make your life easier, but then they go and drive you crazy. I discovered Thursday that the DVD-Rom drive on my laptop was not recognizing that anything was in there.

I tried a restore point. Nope didn't fix it.

Tried another restore point. Nope didn't fix it.

Went to try another restore point, but nothing would move at this point. Started computer over. Nope didn't fix it.

Finally decided to take it into Best Buy. They said it would be $100 just to look at it. Nope didn't fix it.

Found a way to start the computer back to factory settings. Nope didn't fix it.

Called HP, luckily it was still under warranty for 13 more days. Stayed on the phone for 1 1.2 hours with Dave at HP. He helped me with getting the DVD-ROM working which involved taking the drive out and putting it back in.

Figured since I was irritated enough, I would switch over to Vista. No problems doing that. But for some reason I cannot get our Network Magic for our Network working. It wants me to connect to the network in order to install. Now that just does not make sense to me. How do you connect to something before it is installed and you are trying to connect wirelessly?

Really Not Enough Time In My Day

Tonight as I put the girls to bed I realized that I did not buy the treat for Brooke's Christmas party tomorrow or Friday. Which means that I ran out to crazy Walmart tonight and had to be home in time for Tommy to go to work. I did it, but it got me thinking. This year is the most disorganized that I have ever been. I seem to be organized to others, but not the way I like. I don't know what went on that has made me seem to always be running behind, but I am going to change it starting now. I like to be organized and never behind, so I am going to take the time to make sure that is happening.

Tomorrow is already filled time-wise even though it is my first day of Christmas Break. I have a doctor's appointment at 11:15, pick up Tommy and go look at freezers because ours died this weekend, pick up a Christmas present, make a CD of pictures for Mick and Darla, pick up the girls, and go to Great Gramma's house to see Mick, Darla, and Sami since they are in town. All of that will put us home at bedtime. It's amazing how fast a day can fill up.

On a plus side, I really did only bring one project home from school to work on during break. This is really amazing for me. I set this goal and I stuck with it. ALLRIGHT!!!

Christmas Break Plans

I have finished the professional development class that I was taking on web page design. I enjoyed the class, but I am glad it is over. Getting home at 7:00 pm when I leave at 7:00 am is not my idea of fun, especially when my commute is only 10 minutes. Tomorrow is the last day of school before Christmas Break. WOOHOO!

My plans for the break:

  • Make gifts for Great Gramma, Aunt Pat - They are going to be so cute. I can't wait to start on Thursday.
  • Finish Toni's knitted throw - even though the yarn is killing my hands it is knitting up pretty fast.
  • Relax.
  • Clean and organize my scrapbook room.
  • Make and laminate centers for school.
  • Read
  • Spend time with the girls and Tommy, just enjoying each other's company.

No picture for this post. I really need to get the pictures off my camera and on the computer. Last time I checked I had pictures from October still on the big one and who knows how long on the little one. One of the many reasons for the name of this blog.

First Post

This is my first post of hopefully many. I have been contemplating starting a blog for about a year now and have finally taken the plunge. My goal is to have some written journalling about what is going on in the life of my family, my interests, and work.
